A Day at the Phoenix Zoo

Last year when we purchased our zoo membership, Zach received a new "zoo" shirt. Last Saturday he put the shirt on and declared that anytime he wears the shirt we must go to the zoo. As the weather was perfect that day we decided that was a brilliant idea. Here are some pictures from that day.


Zach is learning about "Z" this week so we thought Zach needed to pose in front of the zebra at the Zoo.

Alyssa's 3 year old pictures

I know...Alyssa's birthday will not be three for three more weeks, but I like to get the pictures back before the birthday. Here's a sampling of what we did yesterday.

Zach fights Darth Vadar

Over at Hollywood Studios there is a place where young Padawan's between the ages of 4 and 12 can fight Darth Vadar. We waited in line for 2 hours in order to let Zach have that opportunity. In my opinion it was worth the wait because Zach is such a huge Star Wars fan. Here's his video with Darth Vadar.

Disney World

Here are some pictures from our recent Disney World trip. It took all day yesterday to get these pictures uploaded. So please forgive me, it may take a while to get all the pictures labeled. The highlights of the pictures are from a character lunch we went to where the princesses came around to the tables to take pictures. Zach also got to fight Darth Vadar toward the end of the trip. The kids had a great time and we have some wonderful memories from the trip.

Emilee's Dance Recital

Emilee is loving her ballet and tumbling classes. She has only been in ballet for 4 months and I think she is doing awesome. She had two performances yesterday in front of a full auditorium. Her Mom got to watch the first dance and her Dad went to the second dance. Here's a little clip of Emilee doing a one-handed cartwheel.

Fountain Hills

On President's Day we decided to venture out of our corner of the world and see a little of what Arizona has to offer. I have wanted to check out Fountain Hills park since we moved down here over 10 years ago and it was quite a site. There are ducks for the kids to feed and 2 separate play areas. There is a walking path that is 1.2 miles around the park. Then there is an amazing fountain that shoots up every hour and it spits up water for at least 15 minutes. We weren't sure where we were going when we first arrived in Fountain Hills, but we saw the fountain from a few miles away and we kept driving until we found a parking spot near the park. The kids had so much fun and keep asking to go back. Hopefully we don't wait another 10 years to return.
