No More Training Wheels

Late last spring Emilee asked her Dad to take the training wheels off her bike. So summer came around and we didn't go outdoors unless it was absolutely necessary. Needless to say when we went on a walk a couple weeks ago Robert was still holding on to the bike as Emilee wobbily made her way down the street. Then last week Robert went out to the garage to clean out the car after our trip and Emilee pulled out her bike. She just started riding around like a pro.

Emilee is now taking a pom, cheer & tumbling class. I signed her up because she wants to learn how to do a cartwheel. Since she has a friend in this class she thought this would be the best class to take in order to learn how to do the cartwheel.

Alyssa now 1

Alyssa turned the big 1 today (Friday). It was sort of a crazy day because Emilee had a short day of school due to parent teacher conferences. So there was a lot of going to and from the school today. Luckily the weather has started cooling off. We are now in the low 90's. A couple weeks ago Emilee told me that she knew that Alyssa would be turning one this month, but she wanted to know when she would be 12 months old. Kids says the funniest things. Alyssa opening the gift on her own. I think she would have been able to open it entirely on her own but her older siblings had other ideas.

The cake before Alyssa got her hands dirty.
I don't think I have ever seen a one year old enjoy their cake as much as Alyssa.

See Alyssa in action.
