Memorial Day

We didn't plan on going anywhere for Memorial weekend. We only planned to fire up the barbeque and eat some yummy steaks with potato salad. On Sunday we did just that. We fired up the BBQ and invited my cousin Barb over for dinner. While we were sitting at the table we decided to drive up to Payson and stay at her parents home since they were out of town. So we loaded up the car and drove the 1 1/2 hours north to beautiful Payson. My aunt and uncle have a home that makes you feel like you are staying in a log cabin.

The next morning we lazily got out of bed at 5:45 am when the kids decided they were done sleeping and it was time to play. We found a park that lets kids fish for free. Unfortunately the office was closed so we couldn't get a fishing pole. Emilee could not have been more disappointed. She continually asked all day to go shopping for a fishing rod. We curtailed the begging for a little while when we found a play area with a huge slide. It was a hit. We finally made it to the sporting goods store Monday night so Emilee could pick out her first fishing rod. It is purple and red. Robert was trying to teach her how to cast last night into the swimming pool, but she thinks she can do it all by herself. She is ready to go back to Green Valley Park so she can catch a fish.
