Cookie Monster

While we were in Utah, Emilee attempted to sleep over at her Aunt Becky's place one night. Needless to say after several phone calls we picked the sad little girl up at 11:00 pm that night. Aunt Becky had planned to make cookies with Emilee so we had to run her back over to Becky's condo the next morning (which worked out great for us since Becky made us yummy blueberry pancakes for breakfast). We waited around while Becky and Emilee made cookies. Then Robert got this brilliant idea and started calling via intercom and pretended to be the Cookie Monster. At first Emilee was scared, but we eventually convinced her that the Cookie Monster was not mean. He is just hungry for cookies. So we left him a note...

Emilee was upstairs changing into her swimsuit when the Cookie Monster came and took care of the cookie. She was relieved that he only ate one cookie and went on his way.

Emilee was afraid that the cookie monster would go visit other people too. She insisted that we call Uncle Kelly and warn him. When Uncle Kelly got home from work that evening he had a phone message from the cookie monster (aka Robert) that he e-mailed to us. I'm going to attempt to post the message and hope it works. Robert really does sound like the real deal. Ok, that didn't work. If you want to hear it than e-mail me and I will forward it to you.

Now, the reason I bring up this story from Utah is not only was it hilarious when it happened, but this past Sunday Emilee was begging to make cookies. Robert and Emilee ended up in the kitchen baking some yummy cookies when all of a sudden Robert disappeared and we got a call from the cookie monster again. Emilee was a little freaked at first that the cookie monster found us again. We left a cookie on the doorstep, but Robert ended up being gone all night doing his stake financial stuff and didn't get home until late. Emilee continually checked the cookie all night so I couldn't sneak out and do anything without getting caught. Emilee brought the cookie inside when she was going to bed because she figured the cookie monster would be in bed by 8:30 pm also. The next morning there were a couple messages from our famous monster. Robert had put the cookie out that morning and the cookie monster called to thank Emilee for the cookie so all is right in the world again. Earlier in the evening while the cookies were cooling and no one was paying attention to the kitchen Zach had to taste the cookies for himself. I think he got through at least 2 of the cookies before we caught him. Don't you just love that face....
