Kid's really do say the cutest things

This past weekend was General Conference. For those of you not familiar with the LDS church it basically boils down to eight hours over a two day period of mainly elderly men giving talks on how to improve your life, interspersed with beautiful music. Well, I thought the music was beautiful on it’s own until the Sunday morning session. I was making rolls and had to refill my smaller sugar and flour containers that I have easily accessible with the larger sugar and flour containers that I have hidden away at the bottom of my pantry closet. With both pails out the kids decided the pails needed to be pushed as close as they could to the TV so they could play the “bingo” drums as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang. Emilee was very emphatic that the Choir needed them in order to make the music “more beautiful”. I don’t know that the music was “more beautiful”, but it was definitely more entertaining.

The leader of the LDS church is Gordon B. Hinckley. While President Hinckley was speaking on Sunday morning Emilee sat very close to me and wanted to know how old this Gordon Hinckley is? I replied that this Gordon Hinckley is 97 years old. She then asked how the Gordon Hinckley that was on yesterday could be the same age as this Gordon Hinckley. Apparently the one on Saturday was very shaky and they could not possible be the same person. It took a while to convince her that he was indeed the same man and he must have got all the shakes out of him on Saturday.

At the at the end of each session of conference the camera always panned to the SLC temple. Every time Zach saw the temple he would jump up and down and point to the temple castle. He would repeat over and over “the temple castle….it’s the temple castle.” That got a good laugh so I’m afraid we may be hearing about the temple castle for at least the next few weeks.

Now for Zach's new word....Olicious. He uses this word when we bake something to describe the smell. When he eats the item it's yummy but not olicious. Silly boy.
